If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 800 PM EDT for central, southeastern, north central and northeastern West Virginia.

At 228 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Big Otter, or 7 miles north of Clay, moving southeast at 25 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Summersville, Clay, Big Otter, Birch River, Wallback, Harrison, Nebo, Widen, Strange Creek, Ivydale, Servia, and Muddlety. This includes the following highways... Interstate 79 between mile markers 37 and 50. Route 19 between mile markers 42 and 64.
