Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.

At 517 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 13 miles southwest of Powder River Rest Area, which is 25 miles southeast of Buffalo, moving north at 10 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of east central Johnson County. This includes Interstate 90 between mile markers 82 and 83.
