Winds will be strongest through passes and higher terrain of the North and South Kohala Districts, and near South Point on the Big Island, through the central valley on Maui, and the higher elevations of Maui County. * WHEN...From noon today to 6 AM HST Friday. * IMPACTS...Winds this strong can tear off shingles, knock down tree branches, blow away tents and awnings and make it difficult to steer, especially for drivers of high profile vehicles.
